As lead story isaac Bashevis Singer of the Legends of Rodeo, John Ralston plant himself with no money and no shrink afterwards judge problems plagued the tone ending of his band's first-class honours degree album, A Thousand Friday Nights. The Florida native all of a sudden had no public mercantile establishment for his music, but a chance find with recording engineer Michael Seaman brought endorse the fortune that Ralston had lately lost in the label split. The iI hit it off immediately, and Seaman subsequently invited Ralston to spend some time at his base in Knoxville, TN. Accompanied by former bandmate and drummer Jeff Snow, Ralston traveled to Tennessee, and in the bridge of a week had recorded what would get his debut album, Needle Bed. Ralston released the album himself; short thereafter, he went to Chicago with the intention of overdubbing several tracks with Wilco's Jay Bennett, world Health Organization had go a fan of Ralston's songwriting during the Legends of Rodeo days. Instead, Ralston complete up recording an altogether raw album, There's Always an Ambulance Around the Bend. Although the album was not released, April 2006 saw the re-release of Acerate leaf Bed on Vagrant Records, world Health Organization had signed Ralston to their roll the previous January. Ralston chose a more expansive approach for his side by side record, employing a financial backing band and layering upward of century individual tracks on each strain. The resulting album, Sorry Vampire, was released in October 2007.
